FIRST AND FOLLOW UP VISITS

At your visit, check in at the reception desk so your information can be reviewed for accuracy. You can help us by notifying the receptionist of any changes in name, address, telephone number or insurance coverage since the time of your last visit. Keeping this information current at each visit will ensure that the services you receive are covered by your insurance company.

We try to follow our scheduled appointments as closely as possible. However, due to unavoidable circumstances or emergencies, a doctor may have to spend additional time with a patient who may have had an appointment prior to yours. This may result in a delay in seeing your doctor. We appreciate your patience and understanding in such circumstances.

Billing Information

Howell Family Care PLLC is contracted with multiple insurance companies and as a courtesy, we will submit your insurance claim on your behalf. As a participating provider we will actively seek reimbursement from your insurance company. We adhere to the American Medical Association (AMA) Current Procedural Terminology Guidelines, in conjunction with AMA’s ICD-10 requirements. You may contact our office for additional information regarding insurance participation or you may call your insurance to see if we are a participating provider.  Copays and deductibles are assigned to a patient’s account according to their explanation of benefits.  Copays and deductibles are due at time of service.

Scheduling An Appointment

When you call the office, be sure to tell the receptionist the reason(s) for your appointment so we can schedule a date and time that is most convenient for you.

Appointments for physical exams and routine visits are always available and can be scheduled as needed. We know that illnesses are unexpected and we gladly work around your schedule to bring you in for immediate care and attention for urgent illnesses.

PRESCRIPTIONS, REFILLS, AND Test Results

PRESCRIPTIONS AND REFILLS

We proudly use electronic prescribing to improve prescription safety and efficiency. Prescriptions and refills are issued during regular office hours. Please allow 48 hours for your prescription to be approved by the doctor and ready at the pharmacy. Call your local pharmacy for all refill requests and to check on the status of a request.

TEST RESULTS

We send results for every test. If you have studies ordered by your physician, you will be contacted by letter or telephone within 2 weeks. If you have not heard from us within 2 weeks of a test, please call us.
